Bentley Andalusia? No! try again. Everything we know about the Bentley Torcal
You’ve probably never heard of the Spanish nature reserve El Torcal de Antequera in Southern Spain? It’s north of Malaga and I have to say, looking at pictures of the place, it’s exquisite. Lots of limestone and cliffs, all very dramatic. Is the fact that it’s a partial homophone with the word torque of relevance? Very probably. Bentley, and to an extent, parent company VW are known for using Spanish places as nameplates.
Bentleys Core Model Lineup (their phrase, not mine) has just gained a fourth member, the Torcal. We don’t know much about the car. It’s Bentleys first EV. In lieu of actual data, rumour has it the car is about five metres long and has a range in excess of 300 miles. Some say it generates more than 1,000 hp.
The lucky devils who have seen it say it’s smaller than a Bentayga with a Bentley-esque bluff nose and a low SUV poise. Interior has a curved screen and some actual buttons! Yey! Expect to pay around £300,000
Given the slating the Ferrari Luce got (though I quite liked it) Bentley owners VW Group might be a little nervous right now. Maybe that’s why they’ve only released a video that shows almost nothing of the car, link below and a single still that shows only the rear that looks rather typically on Bentley brand.
