C.A.R. Staff Update

Here at CtrlAltRefuel (CAR), we have an eclectic mix of aged gentlemen with an enormous back catalogue of car knowledge bursting from them that spans many decades. But we all share the same passion and love for cars and vehicles from the ultra-tiny to the enormous.

It’s a small team of three pulled together from being social media ‘fwends’ - established in the Autumn of 2025 - with a vision to bring entertainment, news, reviews, interviews and more in the most honest way. There’s no sponsors, no paymasters and no advertisers - yes we really are that small - but we are in charge of our own destiny and we aim to provide quality content for all who follow and watch us.

The CAR Trio

The original trio, founded by Paul Eden with eV Newt and Chris Petchelli, brought together three distinctive characters in a masterful gathering from fringe automotive chatter on X to almost professional musings on YouTube, but what has changed? And where’s Petchelli?

Paul Eden

Our Founder Paul Eden - most famously known as Mr. President of the Nissan EV Owners U.K. club - is also a lifelong car enthusiast with an incredible background of racing, writing and driving enormous vehicles.

As you can imagine, Paul has a passion for Nissan’s often regaling of his tales of his trusty Nissan LEAF, or fawning over the excellent new Nissan Micra, or drooling at that glorious new LEAF on the horizon.

Did you know that he also went to China?!

Mr. Number 2 to Paul Eden of Team CAR is eV Newt, pictured below many, many, many decades ago with one of his favoured micro-machines.

eV Newt

Prolific EV enthusiast and car dealer, eV Newt, master poster on the CtrlAltRefuel X channel and maintains a menagerie of interesting - and small - cars at Palace de Newt.

Yes, Newt loves all things small when it comes to personal transportation, often advocating the virtues of his Citroen Ami, or FIAT 500e, but also owns a KIA eV6 for those ‘big boy’ jobs.

Thirdly, there’s Chris Petchelli, long time HGV driver, Genesis GV60 driver and a hilariously outrageous giant with a masterful skill at creating video thumbnails. However, Chris decided to leave CAR recently - like Geri Halliwell from The Spice Girls - to enjoy the peaceful existence outside of social media, spending more time with his young family, which left us short of a front-facing trio (if my maths serves me well).

CAR - A New Dawn

New to the team is Graeme Cobb who recently joined as a writer for our brand new website, having written many articles over the last year. So it seemed fitting that he could formally be a part of the New CAR Trio as Third Cog.

And with Chris departing for tarmac new, Graeme steps into the giant shoes left behind with a somewhat more diminutive figure, but he will soon grace our video’s with his inputs, humour and knowledge of cars.

Graeme Cobb

Graeme ‘Newbie’ Cobb joined the team as a staff writer with a keen eye on reporting news, and with an urge to forge his way into the world of “very amateur” automotive journalism.

His lifelong passion has been cars from a very young age, astonishing his Mum with his knowledge of the all-new Ford Fiesta mk1 - aged just four - when it launched in the 1970’s.

With a classic Jaaag in the garage, his love of EVs started a decade ago with the fabulous BMW i3, but now owns a ridiculously efficient Tesla Model 3 (cash at the ready for the Tesla swear jar).

Team Member 3.5

To keep us blokes in check, Hannah and her glorious Nissan Ariya Nismo joins us from Leeds to chat all things Nissan - and more - on the CAR YouTube channel. We hope that Hannah will bring us tales of the all-new Nissan LEAF soon as her husband is expecting delivery of that new baby anytime now.

What’s Occurring

This really is a new adventure for Team CAR, with a new website, a new team member, plenty planned ahead and with lots more exciting things to come.

Following the recent refresh, Team CAR 2.0 is collectively and collaboratively brimming with ideas and enthusiasm, and we can’t wait to bring you more brilliant content soon.

Graeme Cobb

Graeme is a life-long car enthusiast with a passion for writing, bringing industry updates, car news and more.
