Couple that has Owned a Volvo Amazon since 1980 buy an EV as their Next Car

Bohdan and Marian Antoniw bought their used four-door Amazon 122S in December 1980 in South London and have never parted with it, until now.

Over the years, the car became like a family member, even bringing their two children home from hospital after their births.

With nearly 50 years of ownership in one family, and many major events passing by over that time, such as Live Aid, Nelson Mandela being released from prison, some Gulf wars, 9/11 and a global pandemic, the trusty old Amazon 122S survived for decades loyally serving the family who cherished it.

However, Mr and Mrs Antoniw have plans to travel abroad with their car and decided that it was time to retire their loyal family transport.
The good news is, that as Volvo will celebrate its centenary next year, the 1968 Amazon will be restored and become part of the Volvo Car UK’s heritage fleet.

Their new car is something from an entirely different era as the Antoniw’s have decided their next purchase will be with Volvo – staying loyal to the brand that served their family for 46 years – and have purchased a brand new Volvo EC40, an electric premium coupe-SUV with up to 345 miles of range.
