Omoda and Jaecoo Surpass 100,000 U.K. Sales in Just 2 Years

Since Chery International launched OMODA in August 2024 and JAECOO in January 2025, combined sales have surpassed 100,000 units in just 2 years since entering the U.K. market, establishing themselves as one of Britain’s most favourite brands.

The Jaecoo 7 has been making an appearance in the top 10 of new U.K. vehicle registration charts regularly since it’s launch in September 2025, according to the SMMT, with demand for their SUV’s remaining strong.

Both Omoda and Jaecoo offer a variety of petrol, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric options which is clearly a winning formula for the British buying public. But, following its launch in the U.K. in February 2025, more than 53,000 Jaecoo 7’s have been registered, with 75% of customers choosing the flagship SHS-P. Plug-in Hybrid variant, while 66% of all these new vehicle registrations were to retail buyers.

Chery International launched the OMODA 5 first and more than 36,500 examples have been sold with nearly three quarters being private sales. The Omoda 5 is available as a petrol, full hybrid and electric car.

However, Omoda and Jaecoo aren’t resting with a “job done” attitude as they are expanding their product line up with the larger Omoda 9 and Jaecoo 8 SUV’s, with smaller cars to follow in the coming years.

With 144 dealer locations, Omoda and Jaecoo continue to expand its presence throughout the U.K. and so far have taken a combined market share of 5.7%. To give that some context, Ford’s market share is currently at 7.8% in the U.K. after selling cars here for over a century.

Confidence in the new brands is underpinned, not just by its extensive dealership network, but also by a comprehensive 7-year, 100,000 mile warranty with the high-voltage battery covered by a separate 8-year, 100,000 mile warranty, not to mention their highly competitive prices, too.

Gary Lan, CEO of OMODA&JAECOO UK, said: “We have never shied away from the understanding that to be successful in the UK, it would require investing heavily in our people, our retailer network, and the ownership experience, and we’ve done that since day one.

“When OMODA launched, followed closely by JAECOO, our ambition was to create two brands capable of delivering exceptional value, innovative technology and outstanding customer experiences. Surpassing 100,000 vehicle sales in under two years is a significant milestone for everyone involved. It demonstrates the strength of that proposition, the dedication of our teams and partners across the country and the trust customers have placed in our products and long-term vision.

Lan concluded: “Above all, we owe this milestone to our 100,000 owners and drivers, as without them, none of this would be possible. We look forward to marking this milestone through a customer celebration day which we are holding in September – a great chance to come together and reflect on the journeys we have shared, whether on the road, or in the sales charts.

Chery International

Along with Omoda and Jaecoo, Chery International also produces Chery brand cars, as well as the recently launched Lepas, making it the fourth brand to be launched from the group. iCar and Freelander (the latter a joint venture between JLR and Chery) will be the next brands to launch in the U.K. soon, whilst Omoda, Jaecoo and Lepas aim to brings new models to market in 2026 and beyond.
